In the first quarter of 2022, more than a dozen DeWalt large diameter circular saw blades hit the market. These include 10″ and 12″ blades, ranging from 24T frame saw configurations to 100T ultra-fine polished blades. These DWA series blades replace their predecessors and appear to no longer be made in the US.However, their prices are generally much lower.
These DeWalt large diameter saw blades last 3 times longer than previous models.Normally, we would dismiss such claims, but DeWalt did a great job specifying its basic test parameters. For example, the 3x claim compares a DeWalt DWA11280 80T finely polished insert to a DeWalt DW3232PT insert. The test had them both rip off double-layer 3/4″ x 48″ particleboard. They also compared the new comparable blades to the traditional 10-inch 60T DW3215PT and 40T DW7140PT and the 12-inch 32T DW3123.When comparing the more aggressive 12″ DWA11240 40T blades, they lasted 2x longer.
All DeWalt large diameter circular saw blades feature carbide teeth in an ATB (alternating top bevel) configuration. They also have the same body grooves to reduce vibration and noise when cutting. Finally, DeWalt continues to use its ToughCoat release coating to reduce friction and stickiness. As we have learned through extensive use, cleaning circular saw blades can improve blade performance and reduce blade wear.
Blades are designed to improve finish quality when cutting materials such as maple and other hardwoods, and the blades are specially designed according to the number of teeth for improved performance and longevity.
Most new large diameter circular saw blades are now available from DeWalt retailers. The 10-inch 24T DWA11024 will be available in April 2022.They have the following dimensions and tooth profiles:
